According to current historical research, Tarot cards originated in northern Italy around the 14th century, IN the 17th-18th centuries card makers in Marseille, France adopted a common model for the tarot cards. Widely known as the "Tarot de Marseille" it served as a basis for mystical interpretations of the tarot symbols, and as the original inspiration for new decks which become popular during the 20th century.
This faithful reproduction of the traditional tarot cards is based on the most influential and esteemed deck published by Nicholas Conver in Marseille, 1760. The CBD Tarot de Marseille was restored from copies of several printings of the Conver deck.
CBD Tarot de Marseille was voted by 13,000 Tarot Association Facebook subscribers as one of Top 50 Essential Tarot Decks, the only one in the “Marseilles decks” category.
