The Harvest Moon | What Is It and What Does It Mean?

The Harvest Moon is the full moon occurring closest to the autumnal equinox. It is a time of potent magical energy!

The Harvest Moon is the full moon occurring closest to the autumnal equinox. It's called the Harvest Moon because it occurs at the height of the harvest season, lighting the way for farmers to work precious extra hours gathering in the summer crops.

The energy is powerful right now. The veil between the unseen and seen worlds is thinning. Having vivid dreams? Seeing shadows out of the corner of your eye? This is an opportune time for divination and spirit communication. Tarot cards, spirit boards, pendulums are perfect for this moment of the year. I also love scrying with a black mirror, crystal ball, smoke or ink in water. Set up an ancestor altar, their communications will reach you more easily during this time.

Because it’s the Harvest moon, this is also a time to honor all you’re gathering in, all you’ve learned this year, things you've released in order to change, grow, heal, and literal projects coming to fruition. It’s been a transformative year. You’ve worked hard and come a long way, so sink into that comfy feeling of accomplishment and enjoy it!
